Well, this will set tongues wagging in certain quarters of academe: Jacques Derrida had an affair with Sylviane Agacinski, who later became Lionel Jospin's wife.

This is not exactly a revelation. It's been public knowledge for a very long time, so much so that it's mentioned in the French-language Wikipedia articles on both Derrida and Agacinski.

I remember Sylviane Agacinski for something she said with ferocious hatred on Ruquier's late-night TV show: "she should get into show business and leave politics to actual politicians". About Royal, supposedly on the same side of the political divide.
She sounded like a genuine harpy.
However, her affair with Derrida, whether before, during or after she married Lionel Jospin, is of no interest that I can see... on the other hand, I'm not in certain quarters of academe!

If anybody's interested: why is le Parisien valued 200 million but a website for free classifieds sells for 400?
