Story of Flight Questioned

What!? He had lunch with his daughter in the same hotel where he allegedly just raped a maid? With the hotel staff in a frenzy?

it was an EARLY lunch meaning probably 11:30.
The maid entered the room post checkout time, at 1pm.

fleeing the scene is not what he was accused of as we know. The fact that the police moved with such alacrity on such a high profile person suggests that there may be fire in addition to smoke here.

I can't wait to here Alain Finkelkraut getting worked up about this one: another new Dreyfus like Polanski arrested not despite being powerful, but rather because if it. the envy of boorish mob baying for blood. the inverted world quoi.

He hasn't legally been accused of fleeing the scene but publicly he has. And it's been used as evidence (again not legally) of his guilt.

So this is pretty important, surely?

DSK was not and cannot be charged with "Fleeing the scene". Fleeing the scene of a crime is not a crime, and isn't chargeable. Don't confuse it with fleeing the scene of an accident, like a hit and run, which is a criminal offense.
Flight can, and will be used by the Prosecution as circumstantial evidence.
From what I'm hearing there is lots of evidence including DNA.

What a change of circumstance for DSK. To go from wearing $35K suits made by Obama's personal tailor to an orange jumpsuit is quite a fall.

I assume he'll be released on bail after relinquishing his passport?

From 20 minutes:
