DSK and Clarence Thomas, même combat

DSK has joined Clarence Thomas in portraying himself as the victim of a "high-tech lynching" ("lynchage médiatique" in DSK's case). His latest grief involves the publication of text messages he allegedly sent to one of the indicted co-conspirators in the Carlton affair. The messages speak of special soirées at private clubs and boîtes coquines here and there in Europe and the US, to which DSK and his friend proposed to go accompanied by petites and demoiselles. As far as I am aware, DSK has not denied sending and receiving these messages. It's the invasion of his privacy that he resents.

In addition to all this, the Socialist Party now risks being dragged into the matter -- although it's not yet clear in what way. Some of the "SMS" apparently mentioned Aubry and other senior PS officials, according to this report.

I’m actually not sure of the meaning of boîtes coquines because this phrase was, perhaps regrettably, not covered in Reflets 1. All I can say is that a quick Google search convinces me that France is very lucky that DSK will never become president. To be very crude about it, I just don’t think France would have been well served by a president whose every waking moment seems to be focused on his dick

Crude and boring, comparing to "l'affaire Markovic", where a scurrilous rumour, later proved to be false, had President Georges Pompidou attending a "special" club party, dressed as an ancient Greek and declaming classical Greek poetry, while his wife was enthusiastically taking part in intricate group sex! Now, that was titillating!

Que sont devenus les scandales d'antan ?
