A Sad Compendium of "Quenelles"

It looks as though those of us who were unaware of the "quenelle," now lamentably made famous by Anelka, have had our heads in the sand. (h/t PB)

This is truly shocking, and saddening.

Even more shocking as the affair comes on the eve of the start of WWI centenary commemorations and the 70th anniversary of DDay landings, both events with significant official French support.

Shocking, indeed! And so widespread- under the radar so to speak.
Check out the 7th image down from the top: Jean-Marie le Pen doing his version of "la quenelle" in solidarity with Dieudonné. I see this as a deep rooted societal sickness, and as a warning to all those warming to Marine le Pen, as they look to escape from the damage done by the seemingly mad, incompetent class warrior, the Socialist, Hollande.

Best wishes to you and your family for a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year.

Saddening is the word. Shocking too — but in France we joke about the British use of "shocking", so, I will prefer: disgusting.

But I discovered, thanks to this affair, the excellent http://uncomplotsioniste.tumblr.com ("a zionist plot"), that I recommend to all readers speaking French. And appreciating making fun of what is, actually, not funny at all.

Sad is the fact that you all' pretend to be righteous, whereby you all' bend your knees on front of Big Brother. As dumb and ass kissing to show business as he is, Dieudonné has a point : we don't need to be the slaves of Big Bad America and its cronies. Te owner of this blog, as much as he is pretending to be righteous, has no other goal but to make Europeans slaves to America the Blessed.

A small request of the various “French” anonymous commenters: Unless you are all the same the person, would it be possible for you to either sign your own name or perhaps use a nom de plume? Many regular commenters here don’t like to sign in to Blogger but instead type either a name or pseudonym at the bottom of the comment. It is very confusing to reply to so many anonymous people.

I agree with Mitch on this. I think commenters should use the same name on all their posts. I'm would not be opposed if Art decided to eliminate posts posted anonymously. This would protect against fraud, double posting, and disruptive posting by trolls.

It's an open secret that major media have a soft spot for hard-right politics. On Thanksgiving eve, the Gannett-owned Asheville Citizen-Times included a 48-page pullout of Republican Party propaganda disguised as news. So many people complained about the pullout that even the Asheville TV news station..
