Second French Nobel

The French economist Jean Tirole has won the Nobel Prize in economics for his work on regulating firms with market power. This follows Patrick Modiano's Nobel for literature. Even a non-chauvinist can say it's been a good week for France.

Being in France for a week, I have just taken a picture of a splendid little book store rue Mathéron in Aix-en-Provence called "rue des bouquinistes obscurs"...And they did not have Modiano in their storefront, thus displaying a total disregard for commercial interest.
