An Apology

Yesterday, this blog was inundated with obnoxious comments from an unknown source. I deleted them, but in doing so I inadvertently deleted one comment by Bert, a regular reader. I regret this. I do not as a rule censor comments on the blog, but these were both offensive and unsightly, so I got rid of them. Apologies to Bert. Unfortunately, there is no way to undo a deletion.

What a decent chap you are, Art.
I was a bit concerned that, at such a sensitive time, my contribution might have been thought to be crassly anti-French, which was not my intention at all.
We all need to take care not to shout "Fire" in a crowded theatre, and the guy you deleted was doing that at the top of his voice.

Woops. Blogspot is no friend there! My old dotclear enables the blogger to flag the spamming comment as "spam" (then it stays 7 or 30 days in the spam bow defore deletion, which allows to undo). Or, to flag it as "offline", where it remains forever in limbos — it may help to negotiate an edition with a commenter 'de bonne volonté' crossed, maybe inadvertently, some legal or ethical line.

By the way, bert, we all know you are not anti-French. What would l'anti-France do on this blog anyway!? ;-)

Let's hope your creepy interloper goes away.
