Batman, Proust, and I

A little self-promotion. I can't say I ever expected to share a bill with Batman, but there it is (NY Times Best Seller List):

Hardcover Graphic Books

  1. BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE, by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland
  2. CAN'T WE TALK ABOUT SOMETHING MORE PLEASANT?, by Roz Chast
  3. SECONDS, by Bryan Lee O'Malley
  4. NATHAN HALE’S HAZARDOUS TALES: THE UNDERGROUND ABDUCTOR, by Nathan Hale
  5. IN SEARCH OF LOST TIME: SWANN'S WAY, by Marcel Proust, Stéphane Heuet and Arthur Goldhammer

Anyone eager to buy a copy can find it here. It's a nice, gentle introduction to Proust for those who haven't had the pleasure.

Now, who amongst us would ever dare admit to not having had the pleasure and sound like a certain education minister?

I'll not be able to check it out soon, Amazon not being keen on African credit cards - not quite the digital divide, more like the fraud divide -, but will once I pass by Europe at Christmas. Well done anyway, Art

Congratulations! What a pace! Moreover, the choice of Proust sounds great also for those who haven't read La Recherche (oops) but have seen "Little Miss Sunshine" :-)

Félicitations! I ordered your book on Amazon, and I am looking forward to reading it over the weekend, avec une tisane de tilleul and some madeleines from our local French bakery.
I've proposed your book to our book group, and look forward to a Proustian evening in the fall.
Wishing you a happy and healthy summer!
