Cécile Laborde on "Catho-Laïque Particularism"

Once again, Cécile Laborde brilliantly dissects the "republican consensus" underlying recent administrative and court rulings in France and finds that it suffers from a "status quo bias."

No but seriously, Mr Goldhammer, tell us what you really think about the consensus républicain.

The heart of the problem is considering respect and tolerance for "minorities’ cultural and religious practice" as "reasonable accommodations". There's no "accommdating" basic personal freedom. It's only "unreasonable" when such practices infringe law (like underage Mormon girls, etc).
