ATTAC on the Decline

ATTAC, the antiglobalization activist group, has lost half its membership over the past 3 years. Somewhat surprisingly, the economic crisis appears to have done nothing to replenish the ranks.

You'd think it'd do the opposite, with the banks being the scapegoats for the current situation.

This said, I once had a conversation with a member of ATTAC. He's a friend of my wife's, who's involved in school stuff via the FCPE. He was a nice guy, but he was really deluded. Full of conspiracy theories about how the new world order was making us all poor...

You don't hear much about ATTAC in the media anymore. A few years ago there was a big buzz around it.

How ironic that an anti-capitalist movement is suffering from a marketing issue...
