Krugman on Lagarde

Paul Krugman questions Christine Lagarde's numbers (but gets her name wrong):

OK, that’s weird. I just taped This Week, which included an interview with Christine Lagard, the French finance minister. In her defense of austerity, she asserted that unemployment in France is down from 9.6 to 9.3. But I looked it up on Eurostat (pdf), which has French unemployment in August at 10.1, up from 9.6 a year ago.

Crap as I commented on Dr. P's blog it is obvious where Christine Lagard got her numbers from.

Also, French ministers spout random numbers, not all of which are true.
On the other hand, Largarde has been pretty good with numbers till now... good at spinning them but not outright making them up.
Do you think she might be the next Premiere Ministre?
The F2 news devoted a segment to that intensely fascinating subject and chose Borloo.
