Quake, Sarko!

Now Sarkozy really has something to worry about: a Brigitte Bardot presidential candidacy. What's her position on expelling Roma? (h/t PVF)

I would bet BB is totally for it, considering her recent history of racism and her marrying a guy from the Front National.

Her celebrity status might help her get the required signatures to enter the race, but BB has no chance, to have any impact on the presidential race.

Her imaged suffered a lot in France over the past decades. Going on tv-shows to express some of her (extreme right) political views, and in not very subtile maneer, destroyed her mass appeal. She's still viewed as "legit" on animal rights issues, as none doubt her sincereness. But even on this topic, many would challenge her views (just like many in the US think PETA go too far).

If the next presidential election in France is going to be about how to get out of the crisis, animal rights will be the least of the voters' priority. Good or bad, this is a rich man's concern...
