Mincing No Words

Gérard Grunberg doesn't mince his words:

Cynicism rather. In the menaing of: refusal to deal with an inconvenient truth.

This morning on France Inter, spokesman Benoît Hamon called the deficit "du décor", that is, a contextual information, "mais nos objectifs, ce sont l'égalité" (and so on).

There might have been other ways to answer:

1) reaching equality first is needed to prevent bankruptcy (he would just have to prove that non-obvous statement);

2) bankruptcy is a fiction, nothing like that can happen (that would be incompetence);

3) the ways we found to promote equality will simultaneously prevent bankruptcy (for example, we will cut spendings that benefit to already priviledged social groups...). But who would vote for PS then?
