Bail Denied!

(Reuters)

DSK was remanded to Police custody this morning and will be held in jail at least until his next hearing MaHe was denied bail because he is considered a high flight risk, one reason being that France does not have an extradition treaty with the US.

Like every other criminal defendant, DSK was given the obligatory Perp Walk, and frogmarched, handcuffed, in and out of Criminal Court in lower Manhattan.

More bad news for DSK, the delay in arraignment was due to the prosecution finding a Judge to get a search warrant for physical examination of his body. His lawyer consented. According to Police sources, scratches and physical evidence were found.

Thanks DSK for the fantastic image of France!!!

NYPD will certaintly not arrest a man of his "calibre" without important proof of his culpability...

The magnitude of this hit me when I heard the French journalists say DSK was being sent to Rikers. They hastened to add he'd be in the infirmery there and then that he'd been kept up for 48h, no sleep, constant questioning (seriously? I thought the NYPD wouldn't risk invalidating admissions by forbidding sleep for 48H?!!)
But all I could think was: RIKERS.

Jack Lang wins the prize:
"Allons! Il n'y a pas mort d'homme, quand même!"
(indicating there was no real cause for suing and that Americans are pushing it.)
