Bizarre Story

Books intended for DSK are misdirected to a place in Brooklyn:

But curious she peeked inside and found a card, written in French. “It says good luck with your troubles,” she said, translating. “Here are some books to guide your way.”
Sent from the International Board of Jewish Missions, which is based in Chattanooga, Tenn., the religious books were missionary in nature: they preached a message of Jews who believe that Jesus is the messiah.

Another cultural divide across the Atlantic. For a Frenchman, to know that DSK reads religious books (or is expected to do so) will definitely sink him !

It is said that General de Gaulle, a fervent catholic, never took communion during his stint as President, considering this was unappropriate for the head of a secular state.

Of course, Sarkozy likes to cross himself in front of the cameras, to the horror of the "laïcarts" !

The NY Daily News reported that "men dressed like rabbis" knocked on DSK's Tribeca digs, but were turned away. One wonders if this sort of incident is completely innocent. DSK himself said he feared that his Jewishness would be used against him. Curiouser and curiouser.
